Aluminum

 

Aluminum is an excellent choice for an all around general purpose snare.  It has an even balance of clarity, sustain and projection.  Aluminum is the most open sounding of all Mayer Bros. metal snares.  This snare can easily be used with all styles of music just by changing the tuning and heads.

Brass

 

 

 

Brass has been used for instrument making for a long time.  The overtones are rich and full. The tuning range is wide and the overall sound is very familiar.

Copper

 

 

 

Copper has an overall thick and earthy sound.  These snares are dry with controlled overtones.  Copper snares can be tuned high and still keep the low end intact.

Stainless

 

 

 

Stainless Steel- Stainless steel snares are focused and punchy with a quick decay.  The clean sound and quick attack brings the drum to the center of the mix.
